Accused -- The person alleged to have committed a crime

Advocate -- A trained Lawyer

Ajudicate -- Make a judgement

Attorney -- Advocate, Lawyer

Bench -- General term for the judge

Compos mentis -- Having a sound mind

Counsel --  Advocate. Lawyer

Deposition -- Written Testimony of absent Witness

Defence -- The case for the accused

Defendent -- The accused

habeus corpus -- Having the accused in court

judgement -- Give a verdict

judicial -- To do with the judge

Jurisdiction -- Area of authority

Jurisprudence -- The philosophy of law

Litigation -- Bringing of charges

Magistrate -- Judge

Merchant Law -- Gorean wide law

Objection -- A challenge by an advocate against something said

Over-ruled -- The Magistrate disagrees with the objection

Plaintiff -- The accuser, bringer of the case

Praetor -- Peacekeeping Magistrate

Prefect -- Second in command, governor of a disrict

Prosecution -- The case for the accuser

Rebuttal -- Evidence against what was just heard

Recusal -- When the lawyer/Mag steps down

Settle with steel -- Justice by the sword

Sub-judicy -- Still under review by the courts, so cannot be discussed.

Sustained -- The Magistrate agrees with the objection

Testimony -- The words of a witness

Verdict -- The decision of the court

Warrent -- A document to summon the accused

Witness -- Someone who saw or heard valid facts
